By providing a monthly peer grief support group in the schools of South Haven, students are able to access unconditional grief support right in their own school environment. Being with peers who have also experienced a death in their lives offers a common foundation of understanding, on which to build trust and acceptance.
“I get to interact with other kids in my school that sometimes feel how I do.”
“I can tell them certain things I can’t tell my own mom.”
“That its okay to say what you want. Nobody will judge or think poorly of you.”
