More than $68,000 worth of strictly local scholarships were presented to South Haven High School seniors at Senior Awards night on May 28, 2026. This includes up to twenty-four scholarships that students applied for through a single online application process. Those scholarships came from local endowments, local businesses, local organizations and individuals from around the community. The application process is sponsored by the South Haven Area Community Foundation in conjunction with South Haven Public Schools.
Five of the twenty-four scholarships are endowed scholarships held by the South Haven Area Community Foundation. Those endowments announced scholarships totaling $39,600. Endowed scholarships include funds held by the Grace Calvin Scholarship fund, the Community Memorial Scholarship, The Richard and Mary Barden Scholarship, the Jensen Family Scholarship and the Mark Hosley STEM Scholarship. Forty students received scholarships from these endowments this year.
The South Haven Area Community Foundation is proud to provide support for the young people in our community and partner with the following organizations and individuals to present these local scholarships and to provide a single application system that allows students to apply for multiple scholarships in just one step. Supporting organizations and individuals include South Haven Rotary Club, South Haven Kiwanis Club, Caleb Grimes Law Office, Dana Getman Memorial Scholarship, Faith in Process Foundation, Filbrandt Family, Mayor’s Scholarship, Tri-M Music Scholarship, and the family of Devon Smiley.
